Hello! I'm  Ashley Folk!

The baker, decorator, and owner behind Folkmade Cookies. My journey started at Kendall College, where I studied culinary arts and began a career that took me into restaurant kitchens, resorts, and catering companies. I’ve also spent years working in event planning, which gave me a true love for creating experiences that bring people together.

When COVID hit, my job as a private dining manager gig came to a sudden stop—and that’s when I discovered the world of decorated sugar cookies. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a passion (and a business!) that lets me combine my culinary training, eye for detail, and love of celebrating life’s sweetest moments.

Every cookie is baked from scratch with high-quality ingredients (including my homemade vanilla extract that takes a full year to brew!) and then decorated by hand with care and creativity. For me, cookies aren’t just desserts—they’re edible art and a way to spread a little joy.

When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me exploring Chicago’s restaurants, supporting local businesses, playing disc golf, or spending time with my partner and my pup.
